Biography
Son of Robert James Livingston and Susanna Smith. Great-grandson of Robert Livingston the Younger. Graduate of the College of New Jersey (Princeton) in 1786. Recorder of New York City 1804–1806 and 1807–1808. First Judge of Dutchess County Court 1823–1828. Married Margaret Lewis (only child of Gov. Morgan Lewis and Gertrude Livingston) on 30 May 1798. They had twelve children.
