John Henry Livingston

Biography
Second son of Henry Livingston Sr. and Susannah Conklin. Entered Yale at age 12, graduated at 16. Began studying law under Bartholomew Crannell but switched to ministry after attending a revival by George Whitefield. Became a prominent Dutch Reformed minister in New York City. Married his second cousin Sarah Livingston, daughter of Philip Livingston 'the Signer.' Served as chaplain in the Revolutionary Army. Later became Professor of Theology and first President of Rutgers College. Died suddenly on 20 January 1825 'without a pang or previous indisposition' — the day before, he had lectured pupils at the Theological Seminary.
