Robert Edward Livingston (1820–1889)

Robert Edward Livingston inherited Clermont, the ancestral seat of the Livingston family on the Hudson, from his father Edward Philip Livingston. He was a grandson of Chancellor Robert R. Livingston through his mother Elizabeth Stevens Livingston. He married his cousin Susan Maria Clarkson Livingston (1832–1912); their son John Henry Livingston (1848–1927) was the last Livingston owner of Clermont, which subsequently became Clermont State Historic Site.
