Peter Van Brugh Livingston Jr. (1792–1868). US Chargé d'affaires to Ecuador from August 12, 1848 to November 12, 1849, appointed by President James K. Polk (equivalent of a modern US Ambassador). Son of Philip Peter 'Gentleman Phil' Livingston (1740–1810) and Cornelia Van Horne; grandson of Peter Van Brugh Livingston (1710–1792), first president of the NY Provincial Congress and namesake of the line.
