Edmund Pendleton Livingston Jr.

1923–present

Biography

Edmund Livingston represents the modern arc of the family story. A professional geologist, he spent decades as a quiet steward of the family's remaining lands. In 2008, he played a key role in converting 320 years of continuously held family land into the Livingston State Forest, a public trust that keeps the land preserved for the people who come after.

His story embodies the family's enduring connection to the land, from Robert the Elder's 1686 patent to the 21st-century commitment to conservation.
