Robert Emmet Sheldon (1845–1917)

Husband of Mary Elizabeth Butler (married 24 March 1869 at Columbus, Ohio) and father of Flora Sheldon — a rung of the Bush descent line; grandfather of Senator Prescott Bush and great-grandfather of President George H. W. Bush. Born 1 June 1845 at Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio, son of Thomas Henry Sheldon (1818–1854) and Martha Uncles (1824–1912), both documented future targets. His Find A Grave memorial records the rank Sergeant. Died 21 January 1917 at Columbus; buried at Green Lawn Cemetery.
