Biography

Father of Dorothy Lucille Corser (1927–2010). Born 24 March 1898 in Bristol Center, Ontario County, New York, to Henry Spencer Corser (1874–1949) and Grace Amina Totman (1879–1957); siblings included Helen Zylphia Corser Herendeen (1899–1978). Served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War I. Married Eloise Mae Pettes in 1925, and the couple raised three daughters in the Bristol/Canandaigua area: Dorothy Lucille (1927–2010), Jane, and Helen Lee (1931–2014, later Helen Fox, longtime Town of Bristol historian). Died 6 September 1979 in Canandaigua and is buried with Eloise at Evergreen Cemetery (also known as Baptist Hill Cemetery), Bristol Center. An 8-acre town park on Route 20A in Bristol Center is named Levi Corser Memorial Park; the sources reviewed do not explicitly confirm whether it was named for this Levi Corser specifically.
