Biography
## Overview
Dr. Edward Hunter Ludlow (1810 to 1884) was a New York City physician who became one of the city's leading real estate brokers and auctioneers. He ran the firm E. H. Ludlow & Co. and served as president of the New York Real Estate Exchange. He is the maternal great-grandfather of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.
## Livingston connection
In 1833 he married Elizabeth Livingston (1813 to 1896), a twin born at Clermont in Columbia County, New York, the daughter of Lieutenant Governor Edward Philip Livingston and Elizabeth Stevens Livingston (eldest daughter of Chancellor Robert R.
