Daniel Cady

Prominent jurist and New York Supreme Court Justice. Married Margaret Livingston (1784–1871), daughter of Colonel James Livingston and Elizabeth Simpson. Their daughter Elizabeth Cady Stanton became one of the most important leaders of the women's suffrage movement. Daniel was initially opposed to his daughter's activism but came to respect her work.
